- To provide for future installation of an active SMD or SSD system, an electrical circuit terminated to a single outlet in an approved box must be installed during construction in the attic in the anticipated location of vent pipe fan. In other words, the electrical box must be present and ready for a fan to be installed.
- To provide for future installation of an active SSD, the piping length in the attic of the building should have a minimum height of 3’ to allow for the anticipated installation of a radon mitigation fan in the vent pipe.
- Active mitigation systems installed in new construction should be performed by a certified mitigation professional or technician.
