Dynamic Equilibrium

The mechanisms previously described can prevent the decay products from reaching dynamic equilibrium, which is the balance of the amount of RDPs produced and lost.  Typically, it takes 12 hours for Dynamic Equilibrium to be achieved after doors and windows have been closed.  See Figure 4-7.
