The Discovery of Radioactivity & How to Measure It

In the late 1800’s, Henri Becquerel discovered the radioactive properties of uranium while conducting research on x-rays. Although Becquerel chose not to pursue his discovery of radioactivity, two scientists working in his lab, French physicists Pierre and Marie Curie, continued the research.  Their discoveries changed the face of both modern medicine and modern science and propelled them into a lifelong study of radioactivity.
